Research Group

Introduction

The research group Envilab belongs to the Environmental Pollution Control Laboratory of the Chemistry Department in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. The Lab was founded in 1977 and belongs to the Physical, Analytical and Environmental section of the Chemical Department.Since its establishment until now, it has developed important activities in national and international level. Members of the laboratory participate in many committees and councils for the protection of the environment in North Greece.
Moreover, members of the research group have participated in enough research programs, which were being financed by national and international funds. From the research activities of the group, have been generated many papers in international pronounced magazines as well as oral and poster presentations in international conferences.

Collaboration with other academic institutions and research institutes in Greece and aboard is currently taking place and is strongly encouraged by the members of the research group.

The laboratory has been certified according to ISO 9001:2000 and during its operation has been successfully passed the interlaboratory trials. Today it is in the process of accreditation (ISO 17025) for the determination of different organic and inorganic compounds in water samples.
